I've been thinking about play a lot today (must because tomorrow is tax return deadline day and I miss being a child!) According to several studies released in recent years our country has some of the unhappiest children in the world. This is despite the fact that many of us count ourselves as very privileged and are able to provide the material things that our children need for their development (food, shelter etc.) With more and more of children's time spent in front of screens of one type or another, less time spent outside (usually due to perceived higher levels of danger) and super time-poor, tired parents our children are craving play. Our Outdoor pop-ups are growing!

Our Spring Tour was a big success with lots of keen adventurers exploring the wonderful surroundings at Milton Country Park and The Stable Block at Wandlebury. With simple and child-led activities on offer and a sprinkle of character magic the children were engaged in creative play with the added bonus of being outside... and we had sunshine! If you're visiting us for an adventure for the first time please be aware that our outdoor pop-ups are quite different to our indoor adventures as obviously we have to plan for the Great British Weather. There may be less props but there'll be no less thought and care going into how to activate the children's imaginations... it just may have a more rust
